Pick The Varsity Multi Sport Ball Rebounder if your storage or training space is narrow, or you want the lighter, lower-priced of the two. Pick The Premier XL (PXL) Multi Sport Ball Rebounder if most of your reps are ground passes and first touches from different angles. Both nets stand 5' tall, so the Premier XL buys you width, not height.

When is the Varsity the better choice?
The Varsity is the better choice when space, weight or budget is the limit. It's 5.33' wide against the Premier XL's 7.5', which matters in an equipment shed or a gym corner, so measure your doorways. The Varsity weighs 102 lbs, 31 less than the Premier XL. Its net is just as tall, so volleys, chest control and keeper handling at the top of the net work the same on both. It's also the lower-priced unit.
When is the Premier XL the better choice?
The Premier XL is the better choice when the net mostly takes ground passes. Its 7' width gives a player 2 more feet of net for passes that drift wide, and for passes struck from an angle instead of straight on. The Kentucky Youth Soccer Association lists using the wall for passing as player homework, and a wider net leaves more room for those passes to land. All Ball Pro makes rebound nets for high school programs that need one unit to handle a full roster's passing reps.
Which one should your program buy?
The Varsity suits a high school program when the net lives in a tight space and splits time between volleys, chest control and keeper work. The Premier XL fits a program when the net sits on an open field or turf and spends most of practice taking ground passes from players at different angles. If your staff is still weighing a rebound net against a wall, start with how ball rebounders, pitchbacks and walls compare.
How much more net does the Premier XL give per pound?
The Premier XL adds 10 sq ft of net (35 vs 25 sq ft, 40% more) for 31 more pounds (133 vs 102 lbs, 30% more). Per square foot of net, the Varsity carries 4.08 lbs of unit (102 ÷ 25) and the Premier XL carries 3.80 lbs (133 ÷ 35). So the bigger model is slightly more efficient per pound, and every extra foot it adds is sideways, where soccer passes miss.
